Science Café - Nanotechnology
Special Event Invitation Thursday, September 28
The Museum of Life and Science and the Duke University Chapter of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society invites you to participate in the Durham Science Café on Nanotechnology.
Please join us on Thursday, September 28 from 7:00 - 9ish pm at Broad Street Café (1116 Broad St. - Durham, NC) as we continue our series of cafés on issues at the intersection of science and society.
Join professionals Dr. Michael Falvo of UNC-CH's Physics Department and Hope Shand, Research Director at the Carrboro, North Carolina office of the Ottawa-based Action Group on Erosion, Technology and Concentration as they share their views on nanotechnology and the future of small science. Afterwards, join in the dialogue as we discuss the potential benefits as well as the unknown risks associated with nanotechnology, and who should play the major role in shaping its future development and the government policies concerning its use.
Light snacks will be provided while beer and wine will be available for purchase.
